Aruna Kishor Foundation, known as A K Foundation is a non-government & not for profit organization registered under Indian companies’ act 2013 under section – 8, based at Vadodara – Gujarat & actively working all over BHARAT (INDIA). Development of tribal community, rural areas and urban slums through awareness, education and training is the major approach of this organization.

Message from one of the Founders of the organization

Me and My wife are those fortunate people who don’t have the never ending fortune in hand but our passion of helping others and serving needy is endless. Aruna Kishor Foundation, known as A K Foundation is created & shaped up as an organization when I found myself with lot of constraints to help needy from the professional positions I was working for other organisations. I better understood that my knowledge and expertise can be utilized maximum to serve the society if only I reform my own path.

After spending more than two decades in working with various National and International NGOs and volunteering various social projects, I have realised a fact that, there always exists an unabridged gap between privileged & under privileged community which keeps on growing. It is in this moment, new NGO jumps in, takes the torch and run into an unexplored territory. Many organizations try to scale up but for various reasons, they get saturated at some point. It’s necessary to make sure that the organisations sustain the quality and commitment with their programs. I was at this Juncture once, with months of introspection and with lots of encouragement from supporters, I decided to walk on the path which was less walked by.

A K foundation can also be explained as my gratitude towards God who has given this wonderful and meaningful life, My Wife and my backbone – Apeksha who is an amazing partner not only in personal life but at professional front too, My family who has always stood by me to fulfil my dream to serve the needy. And that is the reason that name of all projects named on my elders in my family. My experience for more than two decade with different NGOs has given me lot of courage and confidence to take this initiative to the next level of practical implementation. A K Foundation as of today in a sprouting stage, soon to be a very big grown up tree which can give shelter to many lives.

Core Strength of Organization

AK Foundation is an eminent body which consist of highly experienced members. The members of the foundation have total experience of more than 35 years and more in the field of community development, projects planning & implementation.

Large NGO & resource network for having subjective field expertise. The foundation mainly focuses on working in collaboration with other organizations, local public sectors, civic bodies, corporate and other institution media which leads to large pool of combined resources for easy implementation.
Foundation has already successfully completed several numbers of projects with CSR partnership and collaboration with other foundations.

More than 200 active volunteers from different fields like social work, education, communications, technology, environment, medical, journalism, IT professionals, etc. are working actively with the foundation.

Just like “Charity begins from home” – Involvement of community plays a vital role in identifying the issues and maximizing the impact at ground level in field. Foundation has achieved its goals by engaging community leaders, community workers and local self help groups of community.

It’s comparatively easy to sit in the office, design and implement the projects but what needed is strong grass root level approach. To bring holistic positive change, working at root level on ground is very much needed. AK foundation works with equal determination and dedication towards sustainable development from root level.

Identifying the issues and need of community is the first step towards working for community welfare but there is always a need to do something out of the box that catches the eye of the community members. A K Foundation also focuses on the effects brought by innovation and creativity on ground when seeking for creating a major impact in community. Implementation of creatively designed projects with attractive, effective and acceptable media is our forte.

A K Foundation has always focused on the evidence based solutions for its various project activities. All our projects are well designed, executed, operated, documented and well reported physically as well as financially. The impacts for the same are well measure and Transparency is always maintained.
Also the organization focuses on need assessment based projects. It pays special attention to work on the field and do need assessment before starting any of its projects which ultimately saves immense energy, time , resources and money of not just AK Foundation but also the organizations that work in collaboration with AK Foundation.
