Program Name: Kundan Chandra
Empowerment is the process of taking control which eventually leads to fulfilling one’s potential. Kundan Chandra program of A K Foundation works to empower the underprivileged communities by skill development, handholding & vocational training, capacity building, generating sustainable livelihood and income generation opportunities through different projects and platforms. Our project “URJA” in Himachal Pradesh is the best example of the same.
Project “URJA” at Dist Kullu – Himachal Pradesh
The Project “URJA” is a women empowerment and livelihood project run in Himachal Pradesh. The project is conceptualized and implemented by A K Foundation and technically assisted by Innovator Solutions. Through this project A K Foundation has provided 9 solar dryers to the groups of women to produce different solar-dried food products like apple chips, dried walnuts, chamomile tea, vegetable chips etc. Not only the foundation has given these resources but also trained them and provided them an online selling platform “Nutriangle” through which all these different products are sold and generated income directly goes to these women. It is an on-going active project to bring financial support in these women’s lives and make them self sustainable.
